Dear Fellow Pharmdians,
As Pharm-D Health Science moves into its next chapter, I want to speak directly about something that will define how we grow from here: CHANGE.
At our FYE2027 Kick-Off Meeting recently, we spent time looking back before looking forward — at the trust we have earned from authorities and regulators, from science, and from patients and communities who rely on us; and at the milestones that trust has made possible.
This reflection was important because it reminded us of what brought Pharm-D Health Science to this point, and why the next phase of our growth must be approached with greater clarity, responsibility and unity.
Change is not always comfortable. It requires us to review familiar ways of working, make sharper decisions, use resources more carefully, and align more closely across teams and functions. But change is also necessary: not because what we have been doing was wrong, but because the company we are becoming requires a stronger, more disciplined way forward.
We have built Pharm-D Health Science over more than 20 years through trust, science, resilience and service. Today, that foundation gives us a responsibility to grow with greater clarity.
Hence as we move forward, we must manage change with three important principles in mind:
First, risk management. Growth brings opportunity, but it also brings exposure. The more visible we become, the more carefully we must protect the trust we have built — with authorities, healthcare professionals, patients, consumers, partners and the public. Every decision, communication and action must be guided by responsibility, accuracy and long-term thinking.
Second, balancing the interests of our stakeholders. We serve many groups: patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, customers, regulators, business partners, shareholders and employees. At times, their needs may not be the same. Our role is to make decisions that are fair, thoughtful and sustainable: decisions that protect the company while staying true to why we exist: Health for all with Science.
Third, the best use of resources. Resources are not only financial. They include people, time, attention, knowledge, relationships, systems and trust. To move forward effectively, we must be more focused in how we prioritise, execute and collaborate. Not every effort can carry equal weight. We must place our resources where they create the greatest impact for the company, our brands and the communities we serve.
At the Kickoff, we saw what greater alignment can produce: national recognition, stronger trust in Malaysian science, and meaningful impact for patients and communities. None of this happened by accident, and none of it happened in silos.
Change management is not the responsibility of leadership alone. It belongs to every one of us—in how we respond to new processes, support one another across departments, make decisions, and represent the company internally and externally.
There will be adjustments ahead. Some will involve how we work. Some will involve how we communicate. Some will require more disciplined choices. This will not be won by a single decision, but by the sum of small ones, made consistently.
Thank you for your continued commitment, adaptability and belief in what we are building together.
Let us move forward with discipline, unity and purpose.
Let us understand, embrace and share the WHY as one.
Yours sincerely,
CC Wong
